When Maija Isola designed Heinä for Marimekko in the late 1950s, she used real blades of slender grass and hay to make a silhouette stencil rather than drawing it on paper in a traditional method. This Marimekko spirit of innovation is still honored today, as the most-loved prints from the past are brought to a new generation of Marimekko fans. Heinä bedding in shades of taupe is 100% cotton percale weave, with a 300 thread count.

About Percale:
A high-quality weave, percale has a noticeably tighter weave that allows for a higher thread count which makes the fabric softer to the touch. Medium in weight, the fabric is matte with no additional sheen or shine but the texture is very smooth and able to resist warping and washes exceptionally well.
