Marimekko Tablecloth

You will need: fabric, thread, and a sewing machine

Tablecloths are an easy way to give that old kitchen table a makeover or to dress up your dining room table for important gatherings. Luckily, they are a snap to make so you can transform your table in no time.

Start by measuring the dimensions of your table. Then decide how much you want the tablecloth to hang over the edge and adjust your measurements to account for the additional feet needed. Note: your tablecloth will look its best if you have an equal amount of fabric hanging over each side. Make sure you also remember to add an inch or two for the seam at the edge. Now all you have to do is pin the edges to the intended dimensions and sew the necessary seams. Or, PVC Marimekko fabrics are great as is - no need to add a seam. If the width is OK just cut the length to size and you'll have an instant tablecloth!

Another twist: If you are short on fabric or would like to show off your table, you can always make a table runner instead.
