Robert Welch

After graduating the Royal College of Art in 1955, Robert Welch rented a room in a disused workshop at an 18th century English silk mill. There, with a drawing board and camp bed, he began to execute his passion for beautiful, functional and timeless products. His first success was pioneering the introduction of stainless steel cutlery to the UK, and his work was soon making its way into museums. Now run by his son Rupert and his daughter Alice, the historically rich company still operates in the same building where it all began; keeping the roots of the brand alive while continuing to and evolve for modern relevance and excellence.
